公差：Tolerance 

　基準値と許容される範囲の最大値および最小値との差を許容差、その最大値と最小値の差を公差と呼ぶ。この言葉すら知らない状態で海外赴任したのですから、自分でも勇気があったというか、なんというか。

 

≪例文≫

There is no meaning with the result of the test if we chose the sample without thoughts of the tolerance.

公差を考慮せず選んだサンプルで試験の結果なんか、何の意味もあらへん、んもう。

回り止め：Anti-Rotation

　2つの部品をねじで締結する際、工具のトルクで部品がくるくる回ってしまっては、位置決めできない。くるくる回り止め機構のこと

図面等のチェック時に、使われるコトバ。「問題ないよ」のコトバを鵜呑みにせずに。

最悪条件：The worst-case condition (scenario)

　公差の最悪条件下でも問題ないか？繰り返し使うコトバですね。ちなみに、センター値（状態）はNominal value (condition).

 

≪例文≫

Is there enough clearance under the worst-case condition?

最悪条件下でも、十分の隙間はあるのん？

変化（量）：variation

　Tolerance（公差）と混同して使ってしまいがち。

 

≪例文≫
　The dimensional variation should occur if it’s exposed to the changes in temperature.

温度の変化に晒されたら、そら、寸法の変化、起きるで。

適切な：appropriate

  適切な設計、工具、工程、試験法と、何でも使えますね。

 

≪例文≫
　The dimensional variation should occur if it’s exposed to the changes in temperature.

応力：Stress  歪：Strain

　応力(N/mm2)-歪曲線は、Stress-strain curveになります。

弾性変形：elastic deformation

塑性変形：permanent deformation

仮置き：temp (temporary) set

仮締め： temp (temporary) tighten

 

(打ち出し）だぼ：dimple

公差累積：tolerance stack up

だれ：tapered edge

熱膨張係数：thermal expansion coefficient

  熱膨張係数といったら、それによる応力へと技術論はつながります。

 

≪例文≫
　Solder joints of electronic devices receive repetition stress that caused from the environment temperature variation and the difference of thermal expansion coefficient of materials.

 

はんだ接合部は、環境の温度変化と材料の異なる熱膨張係数によって起こされる応力を受けています。
